The effect of Video Games on Children
Home-based electronic systems have been on the shop for over 30 years. In that time, researchers have had time to look at some of the effects of video games on children, teens, and young adults. There are some clear inescapable and negative effects that video games seem to have on the physical and emotional health of today’s children.
Positively, modern electronic systems certainly seem to have an impact on the manual dexterity of children and teens. The recent drastic improvements in game graphics have increased this impact. Hand-eye coordination among children and teens that play video games is far above those of their peers. Qoute solving skills are often improved as well.
Some video games teach children basic math concepts as well. Children may learn to add or subtract before they are precisely taught the thought in school. Children who play electronic systems also will learn to strategize much great than their peers. Some video games encourage team work if played in multi-player format. If parents select games carefully, some video games are precisely studying based. However, the Qoute seems to be that parents do not monitor their children when it comes to electronic principles selection and playing time.
The negative effects of these games seem to be directly connected to the number of time spent playing. Many children and teens have admitted that their parents do not impose a time limit on their playing. It is much easier for parents to let their child(ren) keep playing, rather than put up a fight, but in the long run, extended electronic principles playing will be detrimental to that child’s health.
Teens who have played these games since childhood without time limits show increased aggressive behavior. They often have problems focusing at school, may have issues with their teachers or friends, and often start to do poorly in school. These behaviors are regularly seen in teens who engage in electronic systems with violent content. Parents are encouraged to check the article of any video games their children are playing on a regular basis and to set a literal, time limit on all entertainment time. Children whose parents set a time limit, and only allowed them to play age-appropriate games, fared much great in time to come studies.
